What is the Sight Loss Information Line?

The Sight Loss Information Line is a National Lottery funded project in partnership with Vision Support, Cheshire West & Chester Council, East Cheshire Eye Society, Cheshire East Council and the NHS. It is there to provide information, support and guidance at a time when those who want it need it most.

Our friendly advisors will provide information over the phone and in person, send out bespoke information packs, and signpost to other services and charities to ensure that people feel confident to remain independent, have a comprehensive understanding of their condition and next steps, and combat potential isolation.

Packs contain standardised information including:

  • Contact details for ECLOs across Cheshire, relevant charities, community transport and relevant national organisations.
  • An explanation of and the benefits of registering for a Certificate of Vision Impairment.
  • Information about various social groups.
  • And any bespoke information requested by the individual calling.

For any enquiries, please call us and speak to one of our advisors. Either email at: sightline@visionsupport.org.uk or via phone at: 01244 478 910

The line is open Monday – Thursday 9am – 5pm and Friday 9am – 4.30pm.

Sight Loss Information Line – New Resource Hub Now Open!

We’re proud to announce the opening of our brand-new Resource Hub, located in the heart of the city at The Bluecoat Charity Building, on Upper Northgate Street in Chester.

The Hub offers you the chance to see and try a range of assistive equipment designed to support people with vision impairments — including easy readers, digital magnifiers, Meta glasses, CCTVs, TV glasses, and smaller items to help with day to day living.

Our aim is to give you the opportunity to test equipment first-hand, so you can make confident informed decisions before choosing to invest. Our team will be on hand to offer guidance and support where and as you need it.

To book an appointment, call us on 01244 478910 or email sightline@visionsupport.org.uk

Also, if you have any visual aids that you no longer use and would like to donate, your contribution would be greatly appreciated.

We look forward to welcoming you!
