Chester Vision Centre
Chester Vision Centre was the first project to enter the Bluecoat Building in Northgate Street as it was formally opened on Wednesday 15th October 2014 by Lord Lieutenant David Briggs, MBE, KStJ.
The Chester Vision Centre is a joint venture between Vision Support and the Chester Lions who have worked together to raise the funds for this initiative.
The Centre will be run by and for people with a vision impairment in the Chester area, supported and managed by Vision Support. It will offer information, advice, access to specialist equipment, training in digital technology, courses in learning to live with sight loss and opportunities to take part in a range of social activities/events. It is estimated that there are over 3,000 people living with sight loss in Cheshire West and Chester who could potentially benefit from the services that will be available.
The Centre is now in the process of being fitted out with the necessary equipment and will be fully open to the public in the new year.
